Jan practises criminal law with focus on cases involving Interpol Red Notice, extradition proceedings, drug trafficking and money laundering in both the jurisdictions of New Zealand and Australia.

She has taken part in a case of civil proceedings involving US$13 billion worth of estate overseas. She was chiefly responsible for evidence analysis, legal research and assisting Senior Counsels.

She had instructions to act for an ex-government official of Taiwan involved in an alleged corruption case where the respective extradition procedures and laws of the two countries were at issue. Despite the absence of an extradition treaty between New Zealand and Taiwan, extradition requests can be made ad hoc under the New Zealand Extradition Act 1999. 

Currently, she is part of the defence team in a major criminal case in Australia.
